Timberlake was 'short like Boo Boo'

Justin Timberlake has joked he recognize with Boo Boo in Yogi Bear for being short.

Voicing the cult cartoon characters for the new digitally animated film, singer had a lot of pressure, in which he stars with Dan Aykroyd as the voice of Yogi, but his own lack of height helped him get into character as the tiny bear.

Justin joked: "I like to wear bow ties - I'm also furry in places.
He added: "Maybe the dry sense of humour is something we have in common. Also, I didn't hit my growth spurt until late in life, so I was short for a large proportion of it."

Dan, 58, admitted it was hard becoming Yogi, but he joked that he shares the "Yogi Bear appetite".

He said: "It was physically taxing. Not only are you using the vocals but we're giving facial expressions to assist the animators in getting the whole character right.

"The days were quite exhausting but I drove home every day laughing and thinking about what we did - happy we were doing great work."

For this work Justin, 29, was honoured to be voicing one of his favourite cartoons.

He said: "Back in Tennessee, I'd put off doing my homework by watching cartoons, and Yogi Bear was one of the staples. I grew up with them. They've been iconic characters for so long."

Justin Timberlake's Animated Movie

To "feel better" about himself,Justin Timberlake has took on the role of Boo Boo in 'Yogi Bear'.

In the new animated movie, singer provides the sound of the little bear - has felt guilty about young girls being fans of his raunchy music so wanted to do something that wouldn't be inappropriate for children to watch.

"Guilt. I've had parents come to me and say: 'My daughter really loves the song 'SexyBack'. I say, 'Oh great. How old is your daughter?' expecting them to say she goes to university. They say, 'She's nine.'

"So that made me feel really bad as a person. And I felt it was irresponsible of those parents - my music is explicit. So I did this film so that I would feel better about myself,"said Justin Timberlake.

He explained in an interview with the Daily Mail newspaper: "As a kid I liked to entertain. I'm an only child and I was obviously really bored, so I would imitate Scooby-Doo and Boo Boo for my parents. Yogi and Boo Boo are iconic characters - a duo like Batman and Robin. I laughed at them as a kid, so I think nostalgia is the biggest reason I did the film."
