U.S. Ryder Cup Team appointed Timberlake as their Ambassador

It had been revealed by the PGA of America that singer Justin Timberlake has been appointed as the first Team Ambassador for the United States during Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club in September.

"As Captain, I'm very excited to have Justin [Timberlake] on board as an Ambassador for the U.S. team," said U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III. "He's a true champion for our sport, and I've been very impressed with his commitment to growing golf and sharing his passion with others. He genuinely loves the game. I know golf fans are going to embrace his participation and share in his excitement for the Ryder Cup."

Timberlake, an avid golfer, seems a natural fit for such a position.

"Golf has been a lifelong passion of mine - whether I'm out playing the game, working on the course at Mirimichi or sharing my love for the sport with others," Timberlake said. "There is no greater stage for the sport than the Ryder Cup, and I'm proud to be an Ambassador for the U.S. Ryder Cup team and take part in such a time-honored event.

"It's going to be a special week for golf fans around the world, me the most."
